Routine_06Solomon: “All the rivers flow into the sea, but the sea never fills up. The rivers keep flowing to the same old place, and then start all over and do it again.” Eccl. 1:7

A women’s work is never done. Have you ever heard that? Maybe you’ve said it (Hopefully you’ve not said that if you’re a guy, but…). Our daily routines can often feel like we are very busy trying to fill up the sea once and for all. Yet it never happens, does it. In my case there is always one more sermon to prepare, one more broken life to help, one more person to connect, and one more soul to save. I am not complaining at all. I’m just sayin’.

Does the repetition of your work mean that it is meaningless? You decide for yourself. But while you’re thinking about that, think about this: if all rivers stopped flowing then the chain of events would be disastrous. So, however mundane the routine of your life may feel to you think about how many peoples lives are “watered” and effected by yours. Today let love flow from you like a river into the ocean. You are making a difference to everyone along the way.
